Beans in the Asturian style

Ingredients needed
  • Half a kilo of Asturian beans
  • 2 chorizos
  • 2 black pudding
  • 80 gr. Streaky bacon
  • 2 or 3 potatoes
  • half an onion
  • one garlic clove
  • paprika
  • bay
  • a couple of liters of water
  • olive oil
  • salt
Recipe preparation

*Previously, the beans have been soaking for about 8 or 12 hours to soften.

The beans with water, bay leaf, chopped onion and salt are put into the clay pot.

They are put into the oven to start cooking for an hour and a half.

After this time, we add chorizo, black pudding, streacky bacon (whole or sliced, to taste) and peeled and chopped potatoes.

While cooking, we fry garlic and crush it in a mortar with a squirt of oil  and a pair of small spoonfuls of paprika. This mixture is incorporated into the beans and allowed to simmer.
